In September 2017 our book reader came to Apple phones and tablets.
System requirements: FBReader works on all devices with iOS 9.3 and higher.
FBReader for iOS supports a range of book formats. The main formats are ePub, fb2 (including fb2.zip), and mobi (a.k.a. Kindle azw3). The reader also opens HTML, RTF, MS Word documents (*.doc), and plain text. “Non-text formats” like PDF, DjVu, and comics, are not supported at the moment.
The reader for iOS is based on the same book rendering engine as the Android version. However, the app is written separately for iOS and is different from its Android older brother. The explanation of the differences varies. UI elements have been changed to be more iOSish. Some features are missing, and we intend to implement them in future releases. On the other hand, iOS version includes some improved features, and we will port them back to Android. Please, refer the comparison table
for more details.
The free version of FBReader for iOS has some limitations. The library size is limited to ten books, and online translators are disabled. You can upgrade to the full version for a fee.
