This major update of both free and Premium versions brings a number of improvements:

  • New set of default text styles. Some old formatting issues (e.g., for poems in fb2) have gone. CSS support improved too.
  • New default library view (in Premium Edition) shows cover thumbnails only. You can select old look if you want.
  • New Google authentication dialogue for synchronisation and network library access.
  • Automatic book format detection. File extension does not matter anymore, except for *.txt and *.html files. (Some issues with MS Word documents were introduced in 2.8 and fixed in 2.8.1.)
  • Updated Polish and Portuguese localisations.
  • Free version adds billing permission, for future book purchasing. There are no in-app purchases implemented in the current version.
  • In celebration of the release, FBReader Premium is 30% off until the end of 2nd July (Greenwich time).

The app works on Samsung Z1, Z2, and Z3 devices with Tizen 2.4. For more details please contact Alexander Kryzhanovsky, the developer of the port.
